A composite power amplifier system (100) is described. The composite power amplifier system comprises an input node (102) configured to receive an input signal, an output node (104) configured to output an output signal, and at least a first power amplifier (106), a second power amplifier (108), a third power amplifier (110), and a fourth power amplifier (112) together configured in a multi way Doherty structure connected between the input node (102) and the output node (104).
