Embodiments of the invention disclose a data synchronization method and device and relate to the technical field of data processing for improving the synchronization efficiency of synchronizing screenbackground patterns updated in a wearable device to a mobile terminal device. The method in the embodiments comprises the following steps that the mobile terminal device receives a background patternsynchronization request sent by the wearable device, wherein the background pattern synchronization request comprises pattern information of a plurality of screen background patterns; the mobile terminal device determines a to-be-acquired screen background pattern according to multiple pieces of pattern information; the mobile terminal device sends a background pattern acquisition request to thewearable device, wherein the background pattern acquisition request comprises the pattern information corresponding to the to-be-acquired screen background pattern; and the mobile terminal device receives and stores the to-be-acquired screen background pattern sent by the wearable device.
