Abstract

The invention relates to a parameter calibration system and method of a liquid crystal phase variable retarder, belonging to the technical field of optical wavelength polarization control. The purposeof the invention is to solve a parameter calibration problem of a liquid crystal phase variable retarder under an arbitrary phase delay and an arbitrary wavelength. The calibration system of the liquid crystal phase variable retarder reads a desired diffracted light wavelength output value on a control computer connected to a spectrometer through tuning a radio frequency driver attached to an acousto-optic tunable filter; a voltage tuning driver of the liquid crystal phase variable retarder is tuned to read a corresponding system output light intensity value from the control computer, and thevalue of the phase delay [Delta] is calculated by means of a formula as shown in the specification; and a point where each set of parameter values is marked in a coordinate system through measuring the relationship among plurality sets of diffracted light wavelengths in the tuning range, the driving voltages, and the phase delays, and the parameter calibration of the liquid crystal phase variableretarder under the arbitrary wavelength and the arbitrary phase delay is realized by fitting a relationship curve of the wavelengths, the voltages and the phase delay.
