Abstract

The invention discloses a novel application of a lipid-lowering drug Evacetrapib in the treatment of gastric cancer tumor stem cells. Using gastric cancer stem cells as a model, we found that Evacetrapib could not only inhibit the growth of gastric cancer cell line, but also promote its apoptosis. It can also inhibit the growth of gastric cancer stem cells and promote their apoptosis. The resultsshowed that Evacetrapib significantly inhibited the growth of transplanted tumor derived from gastric cancer stem cells. Western blot analysis showed that apoptosis-associated protein C-PARP The expression of increased in a concentration-dependent manner and the activation of STAT3 phosphorylation decreased in a concentration-dependent manner. The mechanism of Evacetrapib in the treatment of gastric cancer stem cells may be related to the inhibition of phosphorylation of STAT3.
