Abstract

The present invention relates to systems and methods for producing paperboard products made from paper products having embossed media having an improved structural profile. The improved structural profile may comprise a triangular groove pattern, wherein each groove may exhibit a first linear leg support and a second linear leg support each supporting a central apex structure. The apex may have a generally flat portion configured to engage the finish. Accordingly, the paperboard product may further comprise one or more facing layers adhered to the embossed medium. Further, the vertices of each "triangle" may also have grooves or channels for receiving adhesive in a continuous and uniform manner.
