The invention discloses a five-stage overhaul process for an urban region railway vehicle. The five-stage overhaul process comprises the steps that a train drives back and enters a parking lot, a wheelset pantograph is detected, the train is washed, and reconditioning and detaining for overhaul are conducted; the train is transferred to a five-stage overhaul garage for decompilation, decompilationis conducted, and decompiled and decomposed parts are overhauled; an overhauled train body, a traction and electric braking system, an air-conditioning and ventilation system, an auxiliary power supply system, a train control and diagnosis system, an air braking and wind source system, and a train-mounted information and passenger information system are generally assembled to formed an overhauledtrain body; an overhauled wheelset axle box, an overhauled framework and an overhauled hanging device are assembled, and thus an overhauled and assembled bogie is formed; the overhauled train body and the overhauled bogie are mounted on the train; a single train test is conducted; the multiple single trains are marshaled and statically adjusted; the trains subjected to marshalling and static adjusting are dynamically debugged; static train delivery is conducted; and the trains are stored for standby application.
