Abstract

The invention provides a control system and method for a thickening machine. The control system for the thickening machine comprises the thickening machine, a flocculant delivery pump connected with the thickening machine, a first controller, an underflow pump and a second controller, wherein the controller is connected with the flocculant delivery pump, and the first controller is used to dynamically adjust current operating frequency of the flocculant delivery pump according to a flow rate and density of feeding ore slurry of the thickening machine; and the second controller is connected with the underflow pump, and the second controller is used to dynamically adjust current operating frequency of the underflow pump according to a flow rate and density of the feeding ore slurry of the thickening machine, a density of ore slurry at an outlet of the underflow pump and a bottom pressure value of the thickening machine. According to the control system and method provided by the invention, automatic control of the operating frequency of the flocculant delivery pump and the underflow pump during operation of the thickening machine can be realized, so that the thickening machine runs stably, and the automatic control effect of the thickening machine is improved.
