Abstract

The invention provides an axial tracking system and method for an arc welding robot linear butt joint welding line. The axial tracking system comprises a six-axis mechanical arm, a laser displacementsensor, a robot control cabinet, a digital welding power source, a welding gun and a clamp. The welding gun is arranged on the six-axis mechanical arm, the laser displacement sensor is arranged on thewelding gun through the clamp, and the connecting line of the position of a laser point of the laser displacement sensor and the sharp end of a welding wire is perpendicular to the welding line. Thewelding gun is connected with the digital welding power source, and the digital welding power source, the six-axis mechanical arm and the laser displacement sensor are connected with the robot controlcabinet. The axial tracking system and method can effectively solve the problem that due to changes of workpieces in the height direction, the welding programming demonstration process is complex; meanwhile, the problem that due to workpiece individual difference, the welding position is inaccurate can be solved; and in addition, the welding gun posture in the welding process can be changed, andimportant significance is achieved for welding quality control.
