Abstract

The present invention stops the operation of a manufacturing apparatus for a glass substrate at an appropriate time without reducing the productivity of the glass substrate. The invention relates to aglass substrate manufacturing method and a glass substrate manufacturing apparatus. The method for manufacturing the glass substrate comprises: a manufacturing step for processing molten glass usinga processing device and forming the processed molten glass into a glass plate; an analysis step for analyzing the concentration of the gas component in the bubble included in the glass plate; a determination step for determining whether or not to stop the manufacturing step using the analysis result of the gas component; and an execution step of stopping the manufacturing step based on the determination result in the determination step.
