The method comprises the steps that an acceleration value of the robot and an angular velocity valueof a gyroscope are collected in real time; whether the robot is in standing or handstand posture or not is judged according to the acceleration value; if yes, whether the robot may fall or not is judged according to the acceleration value collected in real time; if yes, whether the angular velocity value of the gyroscope in the direction where the robot may fall reaches threshold angular velocityor not is judged; and if yes, corresponding protective measures are carried out.
