Embodiment Construction

[0060] Embodiments disclosed herein relate to devices and methods for monitoring and processing biological tissue with substrates implementing sensors. Embodiments disclosed herein are not limited to treating or monitoring a particular type of tissue or injury, and indeed, the sensor-implementing techniques disclosed herein are broadly applicable to any type of therapy that may benefit from a sensor-implementing substrate. Some embodiments leverage the sensors and data collection that healthcare providers rely on to make diagnostic and patient management decisions.

[0061] Some embodiments disclosed herein relate to the use of sensors mounted on or embedded in substrates configured for processing intact and damaged human or animal tissue. Such sensors can gather information about surrounding tissue and transmit such information to a computing device or caregiver for further processing. In some embodiments, such sensors can be attached to the skin anywhere on the body, includ...

Abstract

Embodiments of apparatuses and methods for determining an emplacement of sensors in a wound dressing are disclosed. In some embodiments, a wound dressing includes a plurality of sensors configured tomeasure wound or patient characteristics. One or more processors are configured to receive wound or patient characteristics data as well as emplacement data. The received data can be used to determinean emplacement of the plurality of sensors, the wound dressing, or a wound. The sensors can include a set of nanosensors. The wound dressing can include pH sensitive ink which can be utilized for determining a placement of the wound dressing and determining a pH associated with the wound. The wound dressing can be used in a negative pressure wound therapy system.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims U.S. Patent Application Serial No. 62 / 524,413, filed June 23, 2017, entitled "POSITIONING OF SENSORS FOR SENSORENABLED NEGATIVE PRESSURE WOUND MONITORING AND THERAPY APPARATUS" No. of priority, the entire disclosure of which is incorporated herein. technical field [0003] Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, systems, and methods for treating tissue through monitoring of implementing sensors in communication with various treatment areas. Background technique [0004] Almost all fields of medicine could potentially benefit from improved information about the state of the tissue, organ or system being treated, especially if this information is collected in real time during the treatment. Many types of processing are still routinely performed without the use of sensor data acquisition; indeed, such processing relies on visual inspection by the caregiver or other limited means ...
