The lid unit has: a shoulder part (12) mounted to the neck portion of a container body (2) and provided with a handle portion (12a); a lid body (8), which is freely detachably installed on the shoulder part (12) by screwing; the lid locking mechanism (50A) which fixes the lid body (8) relative to the shoulder part (12) at the position that the outer threads on the outer periphery of the shoulder part (12) and the inner threads on the inner periphery of the lid body (8) are screwed on; the lid locking mechanism (50A) is equipped with an operating portion (51) that is arranged on a position that allows operation in the status that the handle portion (12a) is held.
