An insulated cooler that can be collapsed is disclosed. The cooler has a securing mechanism that allows a user to maintain the cooler in collapsed state indefinitely as well as reversibly convert the cooler from a collapsed state for storage to an expanded state for use. The securing mechanism may also allow a user to secure an item, such as a towel, to the exterior of the cooler while in the expanded state. The cooler can have a bottom, one or more sides, and a top. The shape of the coolers can be determined by selecting an appropriate number of side faces. The exterior of the cooler may have pockets, handles, or adjustable straps to increase the usefulness of the cooler. The securing mechanism may also be used to selectively secure an object or item onto the cooler when the cooler is in an expanded state.

A secure pickup and delivery container includes a lockable door, a control unit, an access element, and an anchoring element, according to one embodiment. The control unit includes a processing element and a memory that can be programmed either on-site or remotely with access privilege information such as identity (e.g. of container, delivery person, etc.), location, date, time, frequency of access, and/or package-specific information. In one embodiment, access privilege information is programmed when an intended recipient of a delivery consummates a point of sale transaction, for example over the Internet or telephone. The access element can be a keypad, a biometric scanner, a card reader, a bar-code reader, and/or a wireless control element to read a programmable token such as a smart card. Delivery personnel can enter access request information into the access element, and if it favorably compares with the access privilege information, the control unit unlocks the door. Notification can be concurrently made via wireline or wireless communications to the intended recipient, who may be situated remote from the secure container. The recipient can optionally return a delivery acknowledgment to the delivery personnel. Details of the delivery transaction can also be recorded electronically on the delivery personnel's token, within the container, or at a remote location.

A portable cooler includes an insulated body that defines a main interior storage space, and a lid structured to at least partially cover the main interior storage space. The lid includes an integrated blender or an integrated blender drive. Components of the blender may include a source of electrical power, an electric motor, and a blender spindle mounted through a surface of the lid and coupled to the electric motor. The integrated blender may also include a blender jar structured to hold food items for blending and one or more blending blades. The lid may further include a blender recess shaped in a negative mold of a collar of the blender jar to prevent the blender jar from rotating during operation.

Insulated shipping container and method of making the same. In a preferred embodiment, the insulated shipping container comprises an outer box, an insulated insert, an inner box and a closure member. The outer box, which is preferably made of corrugated fiberboard, comprises a rectangular prismatic cavity bounded by a plurality of rectangular side walls, a closed bottom end, and top closure flaps. The insulated insert is snugly, but removably, disposed within the outer box and is shaped to define a rectangular prismatic cavity bounded by a bottom wall and a plurality of rectangular side walls, the insulated insert having an open top end. The insulated insert is made of a foamed polyurethane body to which on all sides, except its bottom, a thin, flexible, unfoamed polymer bag is integrally bonded. The bag is a unitary structure having a generally uniform rectangular shape, the bag being formed by sealing shut one end of a tubular member with a transverse seam and forming longitudinal creases extending from opposite ends of the seam. The inner box, which is snugly, but removably, disposed within the insert, is preferably made of corrugated fiberboard and is shaped to include a rectangular prismatic cavity bounded by a plurality of rectangular side walls and a closed bottom end, the top end thereof being open. The closure member is a thick piece of foam material snugly, but removably, disposed in the open end of the inner box.

A packaging system having an outer container and a segment panel defining a plurality of phase change material (PCM) segments, with said segments being aligned with sides of the outer container interior upon wrapping around a payload and insertion into the outer container. The segmented panels may include edge tapers which facilitate the wrapping process with adjacent edge tapers being brought together during the wrapping process. A method of packaging using PCM-containing segments which are wrapped around a portion of a payload is also disclosed.

The thermal storage container comprises an outer box, an insulating box positioned within the outer box, wherein the insulating box has at least one wall having a thickness, and an inner box, wherein the insulating box surrounds the inner box. An outer carton can be positioned around the outer box. An interference fit can be held between the inner box and the insulating box, the insulating box and the outer box, and/or the outer box and the outer carton, and the boxes are removable from one another. At least one layer of tape can be wrapped around the insulating box.

A soft sided insulated container assembly includes a first portion having an insulated, soft sided external wall structure, and a second portion that defined a lid co-operable with the first portion. A First species is customized to maintain refrigeration temperatures for extended periods of time and the Second species maintains freezing temperatures for extended periods of time. Both species models include containers having outer protective layers and inner insulating layers as well as a cavity for holding payload being stored or shipped, and one or more areas for holding passive coolants in a predetermined relationship to the products within specific target temperatures. The different species provide cold or freezing temperatures in reusable or disposable models for various applications. The main containers are substantially airtight when sealed for storage or shipping and includes an outer box, inner insulation, internal dividers, and different temperature controlling coolants designed for various temperature maintenance requirements of temperature-sensitive content.

The mug, travel mug, baby bottle, water bottle or liquid container can include a body that receives a liquid therein and a heating or cooling system at least partially disposed in the body. An electric drinking cup for use while driving a vehicle comprised of a plastic inner liner, a metal outer shell, and an insulation-filled space therebetween. A heating element is associated with the bottom portion of the inner liner, and is electrically connected to a vehicle's electrical system. The plastic inner liner curves around the upper edge of the outer metal shell providing a cup lip, which does not get hot when containing a hot liquid. The plastic inner liner and heating element further provide a diffuse heat that heats liquid, such as coffee or hot chocolate, slowly to the desired temperature such that, when heated, the liquid does not become burned and distasteful. The outer metal shell provides durability.

The invention relates to an insulation panel for use in thermally insulated shipping containers, the panel comprising a rigid core of an insulation material, the core being wholly encompassed within a polyethylene foam envelope. A container made from the panels and a shipping carton is also described.

A heat-insulating container comprises a paper cup body having an inner surface, an upper open end, a shell member and a bottom, the inner surface being coated with polyolefine resin, the upper open end having an outward curled portion and the shell member having a side wall on which at least one rib is formed; and a tubular member being formed of paper and having an inverse truncated conical shape, the tubular member having at a lower end thereof an inward curled portion. The tubular member is combined with an outer periphery of the paper cup body so as to come into contact with the paper cup body in contact portions provided on the at least one rib of the paper cup body and on an outer periphery of an lower end of the side wall of the shell member. According to such a structure, it is possible to provide the heat-insulating container, which has a stable heat-insulating property, a high grade design, a high degree of freedom in indication by printing on the outer surface of the container, and a lower production cost.

A container assembly has a substantially rigid moulded plastic shell, tub, a lid, and an auxiliary container that may contain a thermal storage medium such as a phase change liquid. The lid has a peripheral seal that mates in an interference fit with the lip of the tub. The lid also has external fittings that define a seat for the auxiliary container. The lid and the auxiliary container have mutually engaging guides and guide followers that permit a single degree of translational freedom sliding motion of the auxiliary container relative to the lid. The fittings of the seat and the interference fit seal fittings of the lid and the tub do not interfere with or obstruct each other. The tub, the lid and the auxiliary container may have roughly the same footprint, such that when assembled they form a compact assembly, one atop, or beside, the other. That assembly may fit inside an accommodation of an associated soft-sided insulated wall structure such as may define a lunch container or carrier, or other soft-sided insulated package.

The technology described herein provides a combination beverage cooler and car seat cooler for simultaneously cooling food, beverages, and the like and cooling an unoccupied car seat. The combined cooler includes an insulated container having a back panel and a front panel opposite one another, a left side panel and a right side panel opposite one another and extended between the back and front panels, the back, front, left, and right panels integrally formed with a bottom panel, thereby defining an interior cavity for receipt of an at least one item to cool, and a sealable lid being sealable with the back, front, left, and right panels and hingedly connected to the rear panel and an insulated cover for thermally protecting an unoccupied car seat, the cover having a flexible thermal barrier and being foldably attached to the insulated container to provide a combined beverage cooler and car seat cooler.

The present invention provides a collapsible foam shipping cooler and a process for producing the collapsible cooler. The collapsible cooler includes a linear series of attached side panel sections where each of the adjacent side panel sections are separated by a V groove formed by 45° beveled cuts made in a ends of each of the sections, and an adhesive tape flexible hinge is attached on the side of the panels opposite the V groove. The series of attached side panel sections is movable between a collapsed storage mode and an assembled mode where the series of sections are arranged to form a closed rectangular loop with top and bottom perimeter edges. Top and bottom foam panels contact the top and bottom edges of the closed loop to form a closed insulated cooler which is matingly received in a conventional corrugated box shipping container.
