The invention discloses a GC-IMS (Gas Chromatography-IMS)-based evaluation method for aroma of tobaccos from different producing areas, which comprises the following steps: S1, collecting and treatingtobaccos from different standard producing areas to obtain a standard reference substance; S2, detecting volatile substances of the standard reference substance through a GC-IMS to obtain reference data; S3, comparing and analyzing the reference data, and formulating a fingerprint spectrum corresponding to the tobacco aroma substances in the standard producing area to obtain a standard control fingerprint spectrum; s4, detecting volatile substances of the to-be-detected sample through the GC-IMS to obtain sample data; and S5, carrying out PCA analysis partitioning on the sample data, and carrying out similarity calculation (with a standard control fingerprint) to determine the origin of the sample.
