The method comprises the steps: carrying out the decoupling estimation of the whole vehicle mass and road resistance in a starting process, and obtaining a whole vehicle mass estimation mean value and a road resistance coefficient; and continuously estimating the road resistance coefficient in the vehicle driving process by adopting a linear full-dimensional state observer based on the whole vehicle mass estimation mean value. The invention further provides a continuous estimation method for the whole vehicle mass and the road resistance under the driving cycle working condition.
