The invention discloses a method and a device for identifying an off-line state and an on-line state of ZigBee equipment. The method comprises the steps of enabling a ZigBee gateway to acquire the equipment type of ZigBee equipment; according to the equipment type of the ZigBee equipment, determining a state reporting time interval of the ZigBee equipment; receiving the equipment state reported bythe ZigBee equipment according to the state reporting time interval of the ZigBee equipment; when it is determined that the equipment state reported by the ZigBee equipment is not received continuously for a first preset number of times, sending a state query request to the ZigBee equipment; if the state query result is not received after the preset time, sending the state query request again; and when the state query result is not received, setting the offline state of the ZigBee equipment to be an offline state.
