Abstract

A milling machine and a method for cutting a notch in a tubular product are disclosed. The milling machine includes: a pulley configured to receive a tubular product; an axial driver configured to engage the pulley and move the pulley; and a plurality of cutting heads each configured to bore a notch in an outer diameter surface of the tubular product. The axial driver is configured to move the pulley and the internally received tubular product relative to the plurality of cutting heads in a direction parallel to a longitudinal axis of the tubular product. The axial driver is configured to sense an axial position of the tubular product relative to the plurality of cutting heads.
