The electromagnetic environment monitoring system comprises an antenna receiving device, a signal gating device, a frequency spectrum measuring device and a computer control device, the antenna receiving device is used for receiving an electromagnetic field signal through the omnidirectional antenna and the directional antenna; the signal gating device is used for inputting the electromagnetic field signal into the radio frequency switch and controlling the electromagnetic field signal to be alternately output to the frequency spectrum measuring device through the radio frequency switch; the frequency spectrum measuring device is used for measuring the amplitude of the electromagnetic field signal output by the radio frequency switch according to a preset monitoring frequency range and frequency resolution to obtain frequency spectrum data; and the computer control device is used for analyzing the frequency spectrum data to obtain the amplitude and propagation direction of the electromagnetic field signal.
