The invention provides a pollen image classification method and device, and the method comprises the steps: inputting a to-be-classified pollen image into a generative adversarial network model, and outputting a reconstructed image of the to-be-classified pollen image; and inputting the reconstructed image into a classification model, and outputting the plant category of the to-be-classified pollen image, wherein the resolution of the preprocessed image is smaller than that of the first sample pollen image. According to the invention, the generative adversarial network model is used to reconstruct the resolution and semantic details of the to-be-classified pollen image, and the reconstructed image with high resolution and many semantic details is obtained. Therefore, the classification model can output a more accurate classification result according to the reconstructed image with higher resolution and more semantic details.
