Abstract

A receiver is described that can receive a first type of received signal, eg a TV signal, and a second type of received signal, eg an FM-radio signal. The receiver can be used for multimedia applications. In this receiver, the received signal is fed to a mixer (MIX-L) via an input section (RFI-L, RFA-L, BPF-L). In order to get better performance, do the following suggestions. The bandpass filter (BPF-L) in the input section is tuneable over the entire frequency band in which received signals of the first and second types occur. The filter characteristics of the band-pass filter (BPF-L) are switched according to the type of signal to be received. For example, for FM reception, switching provides a much narrower passband than for TV reception.
