Embodiment Construction

[0031] Description of the preferred embodiment

[0032] Embodiments according to the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.

[0033] FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view showing an ink cartridge according to an embodiment of the present invention. The ink cartridge is such that a cover member 12 is mounted on a casing 11 to form a hollow ink cartridge body 10, and in the ink cartridge body 10, a housing portion 4 for accommodating an ink absorber 20 is formed. The laminated fibrous materials form the ink absorber 20 . FIG. 1 shows a state where the ink absorber 20 is pulled out from the ink cartridge case 10. As shown in FIG. The ink absorber 20 has an outer shape slightly larger than the ink cartridge case body 20 . The ink absorber 20 is housed in the ink cartridge body 10 in a compressed state.

[0034] The fiber laminated part will now be described. The fiber lamination part is such that fabrics (fibers) in which the fiber directions...

Abstract

An ink cartridge, comprising a shell and a covering part, forms a hollow receiving part when connected together, and in the receiving part, an ink absorber made of laminated fiber materials is installed. On the covering part, there are provided ribs protruding into the accommodating part. The ribs include ribs in a first direction disposed obliquely to the fiber lamination surface of the ink absorber, and ribs in a second direction perpendicularly intersecting the ribs in the first direction. An atmosphere communication port is formed at a position surrounded by the ribs in the first direction and the ribs in the second direction, and a communication port guide extending into the accommodating portion is provided around the atmosphere communication port. The height of the rib is greater than that of the communication port guide. The ribs press against the ink absorber and do not become buried therein. By adopting the rib with such a structure, the ink use efficiency in the ink tank can be improved, the ink can be prevented from leaking to the outside, and the rib can also be prevented from breaking.

Description

field of invention [0001] The present invention relates to an ink cartridge for an inkjet recording apparatus. Background technique [0002] The inkjet recording apparatus is a so-called non-impact type recording apparatus capable of recording at high speed on various recording media. Moreover, one of the advantages is that there is almost no noise when recording, so it is widely used. Such an inkjet recording apparatus performs recording on a recording medium by discharging fine ink droplets from minute nozzles, and generally has an inkjet head provided with nozzles for discharging ink droplets and containing Ink tank for the ink of the inkjet head. [0003] A general ink tank used in an inkjet recording apparatus is structured to adjust the pressure applied to the ink so as to keep the supply of ink from the ink tank to the inkjet head in good condition. For example, the structure is that an ink absorber is contained in an ink tank. When the ink tank is equipped with t...
