Embodiment

[0042] A masterbatch consisting of 50% carnauba wax and 50% pigment by weight was dispersed in water. The pigments included carbon black as the black pigment, pigment yellow 74 as the yellow pigment, pigment red 57:1 as the magenta pigment and pigment blue 15:3 as the cyan pigment.

[0043] The masterbatch was adjusted so that the total concentration of pigment and wax in the toner was 3% by weight. A polyester resin (Mw / Mn=30) having an acid value of 10 mgKOH / g was used as the binder resin. 1% by weight of a boron complex of bisbenzidine glycolic acid was added as a charge control agent. Using 0.3 wt% BET surface area is 200m 2 / g of silica as an internal additive, the surface of the silica is hydrophobized with a silane coupling agent.

[0044] The resulting mixture was mixed for 3 minutes in a Henschel mixer and melted and kneaded in a twin-screw extruder, then ground to 30 μm. The ground product was further ground using a mechanical grinder with a rotor rotating at hig...

Abstract

A yellow toner for an electrophotographic imaging apparatus is provided where the toner includes: a binder resin; a pigment; and a charge control agent, wherein the pigment comprises 2-8% by weight of Pigment yellow 74 based on the weight of the toner. The toner is uniform and has small differences between toner particles in performance such as charge amount and has a long press life when used in a non-contact developing method, thereby allowing for high quality images.

Description

[0001] This application claims the benefit of Korean Patent Application No. 10-2005-0003186 filed with the Korean Intellectual Property Office on Jan. 13, 2005, the entire contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference. technical field [0002] The present invention relates to a toner for an electrophotographic image forming device, and more particularly, the present invention relates to a uniform toner for an electrophotographic image forming device. The toner has little difference in properties such as charge amount among toner particles, and the toner has a long press life when used in a non-contact developing method, enabling high quality images. Background technique [0003] figure 1 is a schematic diagram of a conventional electrophotographic image forming apparatus used in a non-contact developing method, the operation of which is described below. The photoreceptor 1 is charged by a charging unit 6 and then image-exposed by a laser scanning unit (LSU) 9 to f...
