[0011] The laminate structures of the present invention may be used in laminates comprising coated paperboard substrates for the production of containers and cartons for food products such as juices, juice drinks, milk and other beverages. The multi-layer laminate structure includes a cardboard substrate, one or more functional barrier layers of aluminum foil, nylon, EVOH or PET overlapped on the inner surface of the substrate, and one or more functional barrier layers overlapped on the inner surface of the substrate. The polyolefin layer on the layer, at least one of the polyolefin layers is added with inorganic granular fillers. A tie layer may be provided, and said tie layer may or may not be provided with inorganic particulate filler. A polyolefin layer is preferably coated on the outer surface of the paperboard substrate.
