An implant having a tube for permitting fluid flow has an outer flange at the outlet end and a retention projection near the inlet end. A delivery device for implanting the implant has a central bore for accommodating the implant during the implantation procedure. When the implant is loaded in the delivery device, the retention projection of the implant protrudes beyond the outside surface of the delivery device. After the delivery device and implant have penetrated the tissue through which drainage is desired, and the retention projection has fully penetrated through the tissue, the delivery device is withdrawn. The retention projection acts as a hook engaging the inside surface of the tissue, causing the implant to stay implanted in the tissue. An implant may also be provided with a mechanism for temporary occlusion, in whole or in part, of the flow passage. Thus, the tube passage may be filled, partially or wholly, with absorbable material and / or a plurality of withdrawable or advanceable flow controlling strands.

The carton may have one or more dispensers in the top panel which may extend into an adjoining side panel. Multiple tear lines may be formed for the dispenser flap in the insert that extends across the top panel to permit easy access to the containers, such as bottles, in the carton. The paperboard reinforcing insert may have a larger aperture than the handle aperture in each top end flap to adjust for any imprecision in the alignment of the paperboard insert in forming the carton sleeve from the paperboard blank. When the paperboard insert extends across the top panel and one or more dispensers are formed in the top panel, multiple tear lines may be used to form the flaps in the insert to compensate for any imprecision in the insertion of the insert that extends across the top panel into the carton sleeve when it is being formed.

Air conditioning and heating environmental control sensing system

A device for controlling an HVAC system in which opening a door or window for more than a shutdown delay period causes the fan and compressor to be deactivated, but opening and closing the door or window for less than the shutdown delay period does not affect the fan and compressor. Reactivation of the compressor is delayed for a startup delay, in order to avoid overcycling of the compressor and the additional wear and tear and maintenance that would be caused thereby. Preferably, the door / window sensors are wireless for ease of installation and maintenance. Optionally, an occupancy sensor and occupancy timer are provided to turn off the system if the room is unoccupied for an unoccupied delay time. Optionally, a secondary thermostat with energy saving settings is provided so that if the room is unoccupied for the occupancy delay, then instead of being shut off, the HVAC system will be operated at energy saving settings.

High Strength Multi-Layer Bags

A plastic reinforced, gusseted pinch bag. The bag is preferably formed from a sheet of clay coated kraft paper. High quality graphics may be printed on the clay coating. A plastic matrix is laminated to the exterior of the sheet which is then formed into a gusseted tube and separated into sections. Each section is then closed at one end to form bags. The plastic matrix on the exterior of the bags will protect them from tears and punctures and help prevent spreading of any tears that may form. Additionally, the matrix and the adhesive used to laminate the matrix to the sheet will form a plastic coating on the exterior of the bags which will make the bags more resistant to moisture. The preferred adhesive and matrix will be transparent or very nearly so, allowing the graphics on the bags to be viewed without obstruction.

Vented refuse can

The vented refuse can consist of a unique component accompanying the open top receptacle where trash bags are inserted and removed. The component that makes this present invention unique is the openings located in the upper part of the receptacle's sidewalls, which allow trapped air between the receptacle and the trash bag to be released. The trapped air being released will prevent bag tearing and slipping off the rim of the receptacle, which will reduce the number of wasted trash bags due to rips and holes caused by the trapped air when trash is tossed into the receptacle.
