The application provides a self-adhesive marking tape and a preparation method thereof, and steps of the method comprise the following steps: S1, performing corona discharge pretreatment on a paper base material in a roll shape to make a surface tension coefficient greater than or equal to 38; S2, preparing a water-based adhesive, wherein the water-based adhesive comprises ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, polyvinyl alcohol and deionized water; and S3, coating the water-based adhesive on one side of the pretreated paper base material by using a gravure coating method, and drying the coated paper base material through an oven to obtain a semi-finished product with a glue curing layer. By using the water-based adhesive containing ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and polyvinyl alcohol, performing corona pretreatment on the paper base material in the adhesive and using a segmented gradient drying process, the self-adhesive strength and use reliability of the self-adhesive marking tape are significantly improved on the basis of keeping zero residue and high cleanliness.
