The present disclosure includes a connector assembly that is a part of a sensor assembly for collecting patient physiological data. The connector assembly can include a first connector tab with catches, a second connector tab with openings, a retainer with pins, and a circuit board coupled to a cable. Each of the pins of the retainer can include a detent that can engage one of the catches of the first connector tab. The pins can extend through the openings of the second connector tab so that the retainer is coupled to the first connector tab by the detents engaging the catches. The first and second connector tabs can thereby be coupled together to support the circuit board and the cable between the first and second connector tabs.

A dual orientation connector having a connector tab with first and second major opposing sides and a plurality of electrical contacts carried by the connector tab. The plurality of contacts includes a first set of external contacts formed at the first major side and a second set of external contacts formed at the second major side. Each individual contact in the first plurality of contacts is electrically connected within the tab or body to a corresponding contact in the second plurality of contacts. The assembled modular header is capable of complete pretesting prior to assembly onto an implantable medical device.

A connector family that has a central housing having a connector mating face and a board mounting interface. An outer shell is shaped to fit over the central housing. The outer shell at least partially encloses the board mounting interface and exposes the connector mating interface of the central housing. The outer shell has a cable interface that is configured to be joined to a cable. Contacts are held in the central housing. The contacts, central housing and outer shell are used in different configurations depending upon the application. Alternatively, a socket assembly for multichip in-line modules comprises: a substantially rigid housing structure; at least two parallel in-line sockets adapted to accept multichip in-line modules; a set of electrodes adapted for soldering to a printed circuit board; and, internal connections between respective pins in each of the parallel sockets and the set of electrodes, whereby signals from the printed circuit board may be simultaneously carried to each of the multichip in-line modules.

An electrical connector includes a body having a tongue, a row of first terminals insert-molded in the body, a depressed slot, and a positioning slot. The tongue includes a first surface having multiple receiving slots. Each first terminal has a contact portion accommodated in the receiving slot and exposed from the first surface. The first terminals include a pair of differential signal terminals and multiple non-high-speed terminals. The depressed slot is depressed from the first surface, located between contact portions of two differential signal terminals, and in communication with two adjacent receiving slots. The positioning slot is depressed from the first surface, located between contact portions of two adjacent non-high-speed terminals, or of adjacent non-high-speed terminal and differential signal terminal, and in communication with two adjacent receiving slots. The length of the positioning slot is less than the length of the depressed slot.

A coaxial cable connector formed via multi-shot injection molding has a body formed by multiple injection molding layers of different injection moldable materials about a central inner contact to form an integral connector body. The connector body is provided with a coaxial dielectric spacer of dielectric polymer surrounding the inner contact; a coaxial inner body of injection molded metal composition surrounding an outer diameter of the dielectric spacer; and an outer body of polymer surrounding the inner body. A receptacle connector includes a receptacle insulator having an annular outer peripheral wall which defines a fitting recess; receptacle contacts; and a receptacle-side metal fixing member. When a projecting fitting portion of a plug insulator of a plug connector is fitted into the fitting recess, plug contacts of the plug connector come into contact with the receptacle contacts, and the plug connector comes into contact with the receptacle-side metal fixing member. A hermetically sealed connector comprises an outer metallic shell having an aperture that receives a multipin-retaining, multi-metallic insert. The insert is a laminate of dissimilar metals, including a first metal extending to a first side of the insert and having a first coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), and a second metal extending to a second side of the insert and having a second CTE different that the first CTE. A plurality of bores extend between first and second sides of the insert and contain connector pins that are hermetically sealed with the first metal of the insert by a dielectric material formed between the pins and sidewalls of the bores. An electrical interconnect including a substrate with at least two adjacent layers configured to translate relative to each other between a nominal position and a translated position. A plurality of through holes are formed through the layers from a first surface of the substrate to a second surface of the substrate in both the nominal position and the translated position. At least one contact member is positioned in the through holes with distal portions accessible from the first surface and a proximal portions positioned near the second surface. The proximal portion of the contact members are secured to the substrate near the second surface with a conductive structure. The two adjacent layers of the substrate are translated from the nominal position to the translated position to elastically deform the contact members within the through holes and to displace the distal portions of the contact members toward the conductive structures, respectively.

The disclosed embodiments relate to the design of a battery cell with multiple thicknesses. This battery cell includes a jelly roll enclosed in a pouch, wherein the jelly roll includes layers which are wound together, including a cathode with an active coating, a separator, and an anode with an active coating. The jelly roll also includes a first conductive tab coupled to the cathode and a second conductive tab coupled to the anode. The jelly roll is enclosed in a flexible pouch, and the first and second conductive tabs are extended through seals in the pouch to provide terminals for the battery cell. Furthermore, the battery cell has two or more thicknesses, wherein the different thicknesses are created by removing material from one or more of the layers before winding the layers together.

An electrical connector assembly having shielded cage assembly with at least one port for receiving modules, and methods of manufacture and use thereof. In one embodiment, the modules comprise SFP-type (small form-factor pluggable) modules, and the shielded cage assembly comprises an EMI shield member that is disposed at a port opening for the electrical connector assembly. In one variant, the EMI shield member can be disposed on the electrical connector cage assembly without the need for secondary processing techniques such as soldering, or resistance welding. This is accomplished via for example the utilization of mechanical snap features.
