Benefits of technology

The patent describes an arrangement that allows a stand to be connected to a metallic spool without needing to modify the stand's geometry or dimensions. This arrangement includes an adapter bushing that allows for easy connection between the stand and the spool. The stand can be connected to a plastic spool or a metallic spool using the adapter bushing. The arrangement also includes a locking mechanism to prevent rotation between the stand and the spool. This allows for easy unwinding of the cable onto the spool. The technical effect of this arrangement is that it provides flexibility in the connection between the stand and spool without modifying the manufacturing process.

Problems solved by technology

This type of structure has a particularly complex, heavy composition that occupies a lot of space.
However, the independent stands of the above-mentioned arrangement are not compatible with the metallic spools.
Changing the geometry and dimensions of the independent stands is complex and would lead to serious and expensive modifications of the manufacturing process of these stands.

Abstract

An arrangement for unwinding a cable wound onto a spool (5) includes a central drum (5A) and two side flanges (5B). The arrangement includes at least one independent stand (1) having a protrusion (4) for fastening the independent stand (1) to at least one retaining orifice (5F) of a side flange of the spool (5). At least one adapter bushing to be disposed between the protrusion (4) of the independent stand (1) and the at least one retaining orifice (5F) of one of the side flanges of the spool (5). The at least one adapter bushing is configured to removably fasten the independent stand (1) to the one of the side flanges of the spool (5).

Description

RELATED APPLICATION[0001]This application claims the benefit of priority from Canadian Patent Application No. 3 092 395, filed on Sep. 8, 2020, the entirety of which is incorporated by reference.FIELD OF THE INVENTION[0002]The invention relates to an arrangement for unwinding a cable wound onto a spool.[0003]It relates to unwinding a cable wound onto a spool, made up of a central drum and two side flanges.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION[0004]To unwind the cable wound onto a spool, it is known to use a separate structure that includes two catching posts positioned on a frame that can be moved vertically using cylinders and arranged so that they can be caught on each flange, in order to lift the spool above the plane of the ground. These posts fit into a central orifice of each flange. Such a structure is, for example, described in patent document EP 0 449 076, which describes the preamble of claim 1.[0005]This type of structure has a particularly complex, heavy composition that occupies ...
