Abstract

A device for counting particles is proposed. The device includes a light source; a slide containing particles; an objective lens; a CCD camera; a counting part; and a mover for moving the position of the slide. By using this device, it is easy to count the number of particles such as red blood cells or somatic cells. The mover moves the position of the slide a predetermined distance at each predetermined time interval, so that a specific area adjacent to the area just photographed before moves to a point where light is incident. Thus, the sub-regions on the slide are continuously photographed. The counting section counts the number of particles in each sub-region and adds them together to calculate the total number of particles in the sample.
