Problems solved by technology

This type of access point is at a fixed location on the chute section, so the waste needs to be lifted or lowered to drop it into the waste entry point, which creates an occupational health hazard as well as a safety hazard

Embodiment Construction

[0031] The invention can be carried out in a variety of ways and the illustrated embodiments should be understood for purposes of illustration only.

[0032] figure 1 is a schematic perspective view of the garbage chute 10 . The refuse chute 10 is assembled by four identical chute segments 12 . As shown, the slideway sections 12 may be identical and stacked and fixed together at the end faces, or may be some other configuration, such as a nested arrangement, where the slideway sections are connected together by their side walls, i.e. Similar to segments inserted in a telescopic fashion. The slideway segments 12 can be stacked to a desired height for a particular application. Different types of slideway segments are known from eg GB 2,229,427A, US 3,627,090 and AU 682758, the contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference.

[0033] In this case, the chute sections 12 have a constant quadrangular cross-section, are made of steel plates and are connected together in a...

Abstract

A refuse chute for a building assembled from a plurality of tubular chute sections, the chute sections being stackable in an end-to-end or end-wise nesting relationship and securable to provide an enclosed refuse disposal shaft, at least some of the chute sections having one or more openings in a side wall of the chute section, characterised in that a baffle each is associated with one or more of the openings, the baffle extending from the side wall into the disposal shaft and being preferably inclined such that there is an obtuse angle between the baffle and the opening with which the baffle is associated. A refuse chute section is also claimed.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a refuse chute for gravity discharge of refuse from the floors of high-rise buildings, for example during building construction or renovation. Background technique [0002] The usual way to remove the garbage from the upper floors of the building on the construction site of high-rise buildings is to pass through the garbage slides with limited passages so that various construction wastes can fall from the upper floors along the garbage passages to the bottom of the slides—for example, at the ground level— — container. [0003] Such slides are generally assembled from individual tubular sections of circular or quadrangular cross-section which can be stacked to provide a height suitable for a particular building. When in place, each section extending vertically along the building has one or more refuse entry structures so that users can drop refuse into the chute for gravity discharge. Thus, conventional refuse chutes h...
