Abstract

A data memory device is provided with a USB connector, a USB control circuit, a flash controller and a flash memory. When format processing is carried out by a host device, the flash controller forcibly rewrites a FAT number data recorded in a bios parameter product region from ''2'' to ''1'' at a power source resetting-up time.
