Abstract

The invention relates to a liquid crystal display and a driving method thereof. The liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal panel, and the liquid crystal panel includes a plurality of scanning lines, a plurality of data lines and a plurality of pixel units. Two adjacent scan lines are defined as a group of scan lines, and the minimum area formed by the intersection of the multiple groups of scan lines and the multiple data lines defines the pixel unit. Each pixel unit includes two pixel electrodes and two thin film transistors. One pixel electrode is electrically connected to the data line through one of the thin film transistors, and the other pixel electrode is electrically connected to the same data line through the two thin film transistors in sequence. The number of data drivers of the liquid crystal display is reduced by half, so that the cost of the liquid crystal display is reduced.
