Abstract

The invention relates to a three-unit zoom lens and an image pickup device with same. The zoom lens comprises, sequentially from an object side, a negative lens unit, a positive lens unit and a positive lens unit. During the zoom period from the object side, a second lens unit moves to reduce the distance between a first lens unit and a second lens unit and increase the distance between the secondlens unit and a third lens unit. The second lens unit comprises two lens components, namely, a positive front lens component and a negative lens component sequentially from the object side. The thirdlens unit comprises two lens components, namely, a front lens component and a positive rear lens component sequentially from the object side. An aperture diaphragm is arranged closer to an image sidethan the first lens unit and arranged closer to the object side than the rear lens component of the second lens unit; and the aperture diaphragm moves together with the second lens unit along the optical axis direction during the zoom period from the wide angle end to the telephoto end.
