Abstract

Each floor of a building has an elevator installation zone where an elevator is provided, an adjacent zone adjacent to the elevator installation zone and communicated with the elevator installation zone through a first communication opening, and an external zone communicated with the adjacent zone through a second communication opening different from the first communication opening. The first communication opening is opened and closed by a first fire door, and the second communication opening is opened and closed by a second fire door. If a fire occurs in the building, a fire evacuation support system controls operation of the elevator based on information from fire detectors provided in each floor. Also, the fire evacuation support system has an evacuation operation command section. The evacuation operation command section enables the elevator to perform evacuation operation by which persons left in the building are transported to an evacuation floor when effects by the fire in both the elevator installation zone and the adjacent zone are prevented, and the evacuation operation command section stops the execution of the evacuation operation when at least either of the elevator installation zone and the adjacent zone has effects of the fire.
