Embodiment Construction

[0043] according to Figures 1 to 5 The first embodiment of the present invention relates to a cartridge 10 or 13 for refilling an inkjet printer (see Figure 5 ), the ink cartridge has an ink outlet 16 that can be coupled to the ink supply portion of the inkjet head, and the ink outlet passes through a core that is not shown in detail here and is arranged in the ink cartridge 10 and is made of an absorbent material The finished ink storage element 17 is in fluid connection. The device comprises an ink-filled container 11 with an opening 18 in which is located a capillary element in the form of a wick 20 immersed in ink 19 and able to come into contact with the ink storage element 17 of the ink cartridge 10 . The core 20 is made in a conventional manner from a fibrous material with high capillary action in the longitudinal direction of the core. In the embodiment shown, this wick 20 can come into contact with a wick arranged in the ink outlet 16 of the ink cartridge 10 for r...

Abstract

Apparatus for refilling an ink cartridge (10 or 13) for an inkjet printer having a print head which comprises nozzles or having an ink outlet opening (16) which can be coupled to the ink supply of an inkjet head, wherein either the nozzles of the print head directly or, in the case of an ink outlet opening (16) which can be coupled to the ink supply of an inkjet head, said ink outlet opening (16) are or is fluidically connected via a wick to an ink storage element (17) which is arranged within the ink cartridge (10 or 13) and comprises, for example, absorbent. Said apparatus comprises a container (11) which is filled with ink and has an opening (18), in which a capillary element (wick 20) is situated which is dipped into the ink (19) and can be brought into contact with the ink storage element (17) of the ink cartridge (10 or 13).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a device for refilling ink cartridges for ink jet printers according to the preamble of claim 1 . Background technique [0002] The present case involves refilling ink cartridges for inkjet printers with ink. A distinction is made here between ink cartridges with an integrated print head and ink cartridges with ink outlets which can be coupled to the ink supply of an inkjet head. The printheads mentioned above include a number of very fine nozzles through which ink is delivered to the print substrate. In an ink cartridge having an ink outlet that can be coupled to the ink supply of an inkjet head, a wick is usually provided inside the ink outlet, which is connected to an ink cartridge that is arranged inside the ink cartridge and is made of an absorbent material. The ink storage element is in fluid connection. [0003] In ink cartridges with an integrated printhead, the above-mentioned nozzles are directly in fluid connectio...
