A card personalization machine has a mechanism designed to operate as a dead-end card puncher / voider. The card personalization machine includes a card personalization mechanism that performs a personalization operation on the card, a transport mechanism that transports the card along a card path through the card personalization machine and a card punch mechanism that creates a punch hole on the card. The card can be, for example, a financial card such as a credit and debit card.
