Problems solved by technology

The amount of corrosion itself is not a problem in this application, so even if no perforation occurs, the overall amount of corrosion increases, and as a result, the appearance may be very poor due to frequent rusting

Embodiment

[0058] Steels having the chemical compositions shown in Table 1 and Table 2 were produced by a usual method for producing high-purity ferritic stainless steel. That is, first, a 40 mm thick steel ingot was produced after vacuum melting, and it was rolled to a 5 mm thick by hot rolling. Then, after performing heat treatment at 950 to 1000° C. for 1 minute based on the respective recrystallization behaviors, the scale was removed by grinding, and a steel plate of 0.8 tmm was produced by cold rolling. As final annealing, these were heat-treated on the condition of 950-1000 degreeC x 1 minute based on each recrystallization behavior, and were used for the following test. In addition, in the case of austenitic stainless steel, the heat treatment temperature is set at 1100°C.

[0059] Regarding the evaluation of the flow rust resistance, a test piece having gaps was used so that flow rust is more likely to occur. Pressed from the steel plate manufactured above figure 1 Cut out te...

Abstract

Disclosed is a ferritic stainless steel having excellent atmospheric corrosion resistance, which comprises the following components (by mass): C: 0.020% or less, N: 0.020% or less, Si: 0.01-1.0%, Mn:0.01-0.5%, P: 0.04% or less, S: 0.01% or less, Cr: 16.0-23.0%, Mo: 0.30-3.00% and Ni: 0.30-3.00%, and further comprises one or two components selected from the following components (by mass): Ti: 0.05-0.25% and Nb: 0.05-0.40%, with the remainder being Fe and unavoidable impurities; and which has an atmospheric corrosion index (RI) and a pitting corrosion index (PI) fulfilling the requirements represented by the formulae (A) and (B), respectively. RI = Mo+LogNi = 0 (A) PI = Cr+3.3Mo = 19 (B).

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a ferritic stainless steel excellent in flow rust resistance that resists flow rust from the gap among stainless steels used in structures having gaps. [0002] This application claims priority based on Japanese Patent Application No. 2007-251377 filed in Japan on September 27, 2007 and Japanese Patent Application No. 2008-213400 filed in Japan on August 22, 2008, the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. Background technique [0003] Stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistance, and has been used for roofing materials, exterior materials such as doors and windows, home kitchen equipment such as sinks and refrigerators, home appliances, and other various purposes. For these purposes, the type of stainless steel is selected by assuming the environment in which it is used. However, when the selection is wrong, or the actual corrosion environment is more severe, rust will occur due to corrosion, whi...
