The embodiment of the invention relates to storage equipment and an energy-saving method thereof. The storage equipment comprises a storage controller and at least two buckled cards, wherein the two buckled cards comprise a main working buckled card and a non-main working buckled card; each buckled card comprises at least two ports, and the ports and at least one host machine establish at least one logical link. The storage controller comprises a monitoring module and a power-off management module, wherein the monitoring module is used for monitoring transmission indexes of the logical links; and the power-off management module is used for controlling the non-main working buckled card in which the ports for establishing the logical links are located to be power-off according to a threshold value of the transmission index of the configured logical link and the transmission index of the logical link monitored by the monitoring module. When the storage equipment is in a non-busy state, the embodiment of the invention reduces the quantity of hardware in a working state under the condition of a certain quantity of the hardware in the whole storage equipment to save the energy consumption in the storage equipment.
