Abstract

The invention provides a method and a system for automatic testing communication equipment. The system comprises a testing tool, control equipment, a serial server and a plurality of tested equipment, wherein the plurality of tested equipment is sequentially connected in series; the control equipment is used for configuring the mapping relationship for the serial server in order to establish the mapping relationship between a virtual serial port and a real port, utilizing the mapping relationship to establish a serial channel between the control equipment and the tested equipment which are connected to a network by the serial server, and issuing configuration commands to the tested equipment through the serial channel; the testing tool is respectively connected with the tested equipment at the initial and end positions of the serial connection in order to issue testing commands to the tested equipment through the serial channel between the tested equipment, to receive testing results returned by the tested equipment, and to transmit the testing results to the control equipment.
