The invention discloses a method for monitoring a network camera by using a mobile phone and a system file server thereof. The method for monitoring the network camera by using the mobile phone comprises the following steps: storing a monitored picture or video into the file server; sending a short message carrying a file acquisition address to a designated mobile phone through a network after the picture or the video is stored, wherein the file acquisition address comprises a file server address and the position of the picture or the video in the file server; receiving a file browsing request which is sent according to the short message and carries the file acquisition address and a designated address; and finding the picture or the video according to the file acquisition address in the file browsing request and displaying the picture or playing the video on a display in the designated address through the network. The method for monitoring the network camera by using the mobile phone can be applied to various network technical standards and mobile phone standards and realize the monitoring of the network camera simply and quickly in real time without obstacles.
