Abstract

The invention discloses UDP (User Datagram Protocol)-based data stream sending-receiving method and device, relating to the technical field of multi-media network communication and aiming to solve the problem that since UDP packet is larger, a packet is easy to lose during network transmission after an IP layer is segmented in the prior art. The UDP-based data stream sending method comprises the steps of: segmenting multi-media data into data segments not larger than a preset value; packaging the data segments in a UDP sub-packet; and sending a UDP packet carrying the UDP sub-packet. The invention can be adopted to reduce the probability of UDP packet loss during IP layer data transmission and can improve the timeliness of data stream.
