Abstract

The method involves operating an internal combustion engine (8) with predefined load to heat a catalyst (9) for cold-starting of the engine of a hybrid vehicle, where the vehicle comprises a driving installation (1) with driving units (3, 4) having an electric motor (10). The electric motor is assisted for driving the hybrid vehicle. The internal combustion engine is operated in an idle state to continue heating process of the catalyst.
