Abstract

The invention relates to a novel method for measuring the energy loss of a power electronic device of a high-power converter. In order to avoid the energy loss generated by a device from leaking into surrounding air in a heat way, the method of the invention is additionally provided with a cavity with thermal insulation based on a traditional measuring method, the air temperature in the cavity is controlled to approach to the outside temperature of the cavity as much as possible so as to reduce the heat emitted to air from the cavity, and therefore most of the energy loss of the leaked heat of the device is reserved inside the cavity. When the cavity reaches thermal equilibrium, the residual heat inside the cavity can eventually be brought out by cooling fluid, and therefore the measuring method greatly reduces the heat leakage of the device and improves the accuracy of measuring the energy loss of the device. The method for measuring the energy loss provided by the invention effectively improves the accuracy of measuring the energy loss of the device, brings more accurate and reliable design basis for the design and the development of the converter and has a quite significance for the design optimization of the converter.
