Abstract

The invention provides a cognitive radio multi-channel measurement and control (MAC) protocol. The protocol has the basic thought of improving network performance by using the characteristic of dynamic change of frequency spectrum of a cognitive radio multi-channel environment. At a frequency spectrum cognition stage, the protocol discovers available idle frequency spectrum in a synchronous time slot mode by adopting a method for perceiving the frequency spectrum in sequence by a controller. Meanwhile, the protocol defines the channel availability, and preferably selects an idle channel with high availability for data transmission. The protocol ensures reduction of cognitive user conflicts and reliability of data channels in a cognitive radio network so as to improve the throughput of the cognitive radio network.
