The method comprises the following steps: starting a preset timely monitoring task, wherein the timely monitoring task is a monitoring task executed timely every n seconds; when the timely monitoring task is executed, determining a target index in all monitoring indexes according to preset monitoring indexes and index properties of the monitoring indexes, and performing data collection on the target index, wherein the index properties comprise a collection period, and the target index is a monitoring index of which the collection period is an integral multiple of n seconds and the collection period unit is second in all monitoring indexes; finally, determining whether to trigger alarm information of the target index or not according to the collected data of the target index and a first threshold condition corresponding to the target index. By adopting the resource index monitoring method and device, second-level monitoring of the indexes can be realized; the method can be applied to time-sensitive application scenes.
