Benefits of technology

This patented technique helps improve the performance of next generation (NG) mobile networks that use advanced technologies like Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexed Access (OFDM), Time Difference Code Multiple Access (TDCDMA). By utilizing this new technology with better accuracy than existing methods such as pilots or Pilot Signal Interference Correctors (PSICs), it can increase network's overall data throughput without reducing its capabilities due to increased interference from other systems transmitting at the same frequency band.

Problems solved by technology

This patented technical problem addressed in this patents relates to improving the performance (spectrum capacity) and reducing delays associated with conventional Code Division Multiple Access Systems while maintaining their ability to combine signals effectively without increasing redundancy levels.

Abstract

The invention discloses an iterative timing synchronization method for an interleave-division multiple-access (IDMA) system. The method comprises the following steps that: 1, a base station of the IDMA system estimates the time offset of different users by utilizing a signal to noise ratio-variance evolution technology in an iterative detection process; 2, the time offset information of each user is fed back to transmitters of corresponding users; and 3, the users implement the iterative timing synchronization method for time offset compensation to realize the iterative timing synchronization function of the IDMA system. By the circuit and the method, the problems of timing synchronization bottlenecks in the IDMA uplink communication system are solved; and the circuit and the method are mainly applied to timing synchronization in uplinks of the IDMA system.
