Abstract

The invention discloses a method for switching users in an IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) to a packet switch domain from a circuit switch domain. A switching proxy (HO-Proxy) is arranged among networks and used for switching to a PS (Packet Switch) domain of a target network. The method comprises the following steps: a service network sends a switching request of the CS (Circuit Switch) domain business of UE (User Equipment) to the HO-Proxy when deciding to switch the UE with a circuit switch (CS) domain business to the PS domain of the target network, and the HO-Proxy requests a target network control entity to switch the CS domain business of the UE to the PS domain of the target network or switches the CS domain business of the UE to the PS domain of the target network. At the same time, the invention discloses a system for switching the users in the IMS to the packet switch domain from the circuit switch domain, which is used for implementing the method. The HO-Proxy is used for accurately reserving bearing resources of the PS for corresponding business of the UE while switching from the CS domain business to the PS network is conducted, and thereby accurate and timely switching is realized.
