The invention relates to a method for managing a radio based on real-time positioning information in a vehicle and a system thereof. The vehicle is provided with a vehicle satellite positioning navigation terminal and the radio forming communication connection with the vehicle. The method comprises the following steps: receiving a satellite positioning signal and calculating a current position of the vehicle based on the received satellite positioning signal; comparing the current position with a previous position and combing map information so as to determine whether the vehicle crosses an administrative region; if the vehicle crosses the administrative region, sending an automatic searching channel instruction to the radio; executing channel automatic searching based on the received automatic searching channel instruction and storing a channel searching result; successively playing a predetermined program time length of the each channel till a channel confirmation instruction is received according to a rising frequency or frequency reducing order based on the stored channel searching result. By using the method and the system of the invention, when the user vehicle crosses the region, the radio can automatically execute channel searching, which brings convenience for the user.
