Problems solved by technology

Finally, the user equipment needs to distinguish 8 bits, that is, 256 power levels, and this is too complex to implement for the current user equipment that only needs to distinguish between two or four power levels

Embodiment Construction

[0033] Embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

[0034] figure 2 is a simplified flowchart schematically illustrating a method 200 for multicasting in wireless communication according to the present invention. As shown in the figure, the method 200 starts at step S201. In step S202, the method 200 extracts bits with the same importance level from each video block in the video frame, so as to form multiple data streams with different importance levels. Next, the method 200 proceeds to step S203. In step S203, the plurality of data streams are respectively encoded sequentially and cyclically using a plurality of different encoding rates. Then the method 200 proceeds to step S204, wherein the encoded data streams are divided into multiple groups according to the importance level and different powers are allocated to each group. Then the method 200 proceeds to step S205. In this step S205, multiple...

Abstract

The invention provides a multicasting method and device for wireless communication; the multicasting method comprises the following steps of: respectively extracting bits with the same importance grade from video blocks in a video frame so as to form a plurality of data streams with different importance grades; sequentially and circularly coding the plurality of data streams by using multiple different coding rates; dividing the plurality of coded data streams into a plurality of groups according to the importance grade, and distributing different powers to the groups; and carrying multicasting on the plurality of data streams according to the distributed powers. According to the method and device of the invention, the smooth quality degradation of receiving signals can be realized, and very good frequency spectrum efficiency can be obtained. In addition, as the grouping size, the coding rate, the power distribution grade in the multicasting method and device are configurable, good elasticity and flexibility are supplied, and the multicasting method and device are suitable for different requirements of operators.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates generally to wireless communications, and more particularly to methods and apparatus for multicasting in wireless communications. Background technique [0002] In wireless communication, signal quality and channel capacity are specific to user equipment, which vary depending on where the user equipment is located, conditions of radio propagation, and the like. For multicast systems such as 3GPP LTE (3rd Generation Partnership Project Long Term Evolution), video streams are usually configured with a predetermined coding and modulation scheme, and for the required SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) or PSNR (Pixel SNR) is also the same. An ideal multicast system is to enable user equipment to receive multicast data streams from the base station with its maximum channel capacity. However, for current multicast systems, coding and modulation schemes cannot be changed according to individual users since there is no feedback from user...
