Abstract

The invention provides a method and a device for device management. The method comprises the following steps: a gateway receives an operating order sent by a device management server (DMS), wherein the operating order comprises a mapped management object (MO) address; the operating order is used for indicating to execute an operation in an embodiment corresponding to the mapped MO address on the gateway; the gateway transforms the mapped MO address in the operating order sent by the DMS into a corresponding terminal MO address at the terminal according to the MO embodiment association relationship; the MO embodiment association relationship comprises a terminal mark and a terminal MO address corresponding to the mapped MO address; the transformed operating order is used for indicating the terminal to execute operation in the embodiment corresponding to the terminal MO address; and the transformed operating order is sent to the corresponding terminal respectively. The invention obviates the defect that the terminal cannot carry out the operating order from the gateway when the MO on the terminal is managed by the DMS manages via the mapped MO on the gateway.
