Abstract

A dispensing gun having a mix head for combining at least two fluid components, with a purge rod slidably positioned within the mix head. The purge rod has a forward position for preventing flow from the component inlets, and a rearward position allowing flow from the component inlets with an actuator for moving the purge rod. The dispensing gun further a lubrication chamber that provides lubricant to the purge rod with the lubricant originating from a lubricant cartridge.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a multi-component dispensing device, and, more particularly, to the lubrication of mechanical cleaning rods in multi-component dispensing guns. Background technique [0002] Generally, the various component types associated with the present invention include chemically inert resin components which are in insulating form, and chemically inert isocyanate materials which are also in insulating form. When the isocyanate and resin combine, a chemical reaction begins immediately, which leads to crosslinking, curing, and setting of the mixture. Thus, the two components are passed separately in the dispensing gun until near the end where the two components are mixed and dispensed from. Between dispensing shots of the mixture, the mixing area and the end of the dispensing gun must be cleared of the mixture, otherwise the mixture will freeze and disable the dispensing gun. However, cleaning of the mixing area and the tip of the...
